To start this blog off, I want to introduce myself to you. My name is Heather Carpenter, and this is my 6th of teaching. I have spent all 6 years here at Brumby, and I could not imagine teaching anywhere else. I taught kindergarten for my first 3 years, and this is my 3rd year with 5th grade girls. Although I loved kindergarten, 5th grade is my passion. In my spare time, I go to church, spend time with my boyfriend and our two wonderful dogs, and climb Kennesaw Mountain.
I will be updating this blog weekly. I will tell you all about the happenings in the Sunset Sweetheart room, let you know about what we are learning, tell you about upcoming projects, and reminders about homework/test dates. I will also put any important school news, announcements about upcoming events such as school dances and field trips, and tips as to how you can help your daughter at home. I am going to compile a list of every ones email addresses and will send you all a link to the blog website every week when it is updated. I would also like to post pictures of things going on with The Sunset Sweethearts throughout the year, so I will be sending home a permission slip for me to include your daughter's pictures on here from time to time. My hope is that your daughter will be able to come back to this site in years to come to reminisce about her final year in elementary school.
